Jammu, Oct 12 (NVI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential property in Srinagar allegedly used to harbour Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists and conceal material linked to a cross-border terror conspiracy, officials said on Monday.
The property, located at Danihama in the Hazratbal area of Srinagar, belongs to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas, the NIA said in a statement.
The agency attached the property under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the NIA Director General.
According to the NIA, the investigation established a link between the property and the alleged terror conspiracy, with the premises having been used to provide shelter to Pakistani terrorists and conceal incriminating material.
The case, registered as RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU, was initially lodged as FIR No. 24/2026 at Zakoora police station in Srinagar on March 31, 2026, before being taken over by the NIA.
The investigation has revealed an alleged network of local overground workers (OGWs) working in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support for Pakistani terrorists to carry out attacks against government establishments, security forces and civilians, the agency said.
During a search of Mir’s residential premises on April 6, two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, were detected. Both were allegedly associated with the LeT, the NIA said.
An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered and seized during the search, it added.
The accused had knowingly provided his residential premises as a safe haven for the terrorists, according to the agency.
The investigation is continuing to identify the wider terror-support network, including other OGWs, facilitators and individuals allegedly linked to Pakistan-based handlers, the NIA said.—(NVI)
