Srinagar, Sep 21 (NVI) : In a strategic move that has sparked discussions across the political spectrum, Muntazir Mohiudin, a leader of the Apni Party, has officially withdrawn his nomination from the Budgam constituency. Mohiudin’s decision, made after consultations with his close allies and well-wishers, marks his endorsement of Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, ahead of the upcoming elections.
In his statement, Mohiudin emphasized that Kashmir needs a powerful voice in the political arena, and he believes that Omar Abdullah is the best candidate to provide such leadership. This decision is seen as a strategic effort to enhance Abdullah’s prospects in a key constituency.
However, this development has also led to sharp reactions from other political parties. Mohit Bhan, a spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was quick to raise concerns over what he described as the “B-Team of BJP” aligning with Omar Abdullah. Bhan took to social media to call for transparency, urging Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, the sitting MP from the area, to clarify his stand on the alliance between Omar Abdullah and BJP-affiliated groups. Bhan emphasized that “Kashmir deserves transparency, not backdoor deals.”
The question of potential alignments between Apni Party and BJP-affiliated groups has cast a new light on the upcoming elections, with voters and political analysts closely watching how these developments unfold. As PDP spokesperson suggest concerns about covert alliances and the implications of political maneuvering for the future of Kashmir’s governance. (News Vibes of India)
