New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted people on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi and hoped that this day furthers compassion and brotherhood.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi said, “Best wishes on Milad-un-Nabi. Hope this day furthers compassion and brotherhood all across. May everybody be healthy and happy. Eid Mubarak!.”
Milad-un-Nabi also called Eid-e-Milad, the day is celebrated as the birth of Prophet Mohammad.
The festival is celebrated in Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar, by Muslims who belong to the Sufi or the Barelvi school of thought. This year, because of the pandemic-imposed restrictions, the celebrations may happen virtually across the country.
