New Delhi: Parts of North, East and Peninsular India are expected to receive heavy rainfall and likely to witness thunderstorm with strong winds exceeding up to 50 km/ph today, the IMD said.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), “Heavy Rainfall very likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Lakshadweep and Kerala & Mahe.”
Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan.
With lightning at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the IMD said.
With lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh, it said.
Strong Winds (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Southwest & Westcentral Arabian sea, Lakshadweep area and Southeast Arabian Sea along & off Karnataka-Kerala coasts. Fishermen not to venture here, the IMD added.
