Srinagar, Aug 19 (NVI): On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the spirit of brotherhood and unity was celebrated in a heartwarming gesture by the residents of Soni village, located along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu & Kashmir.

The local villagers came together to honor and express their gratitude to the Indian Army personnel stationed in the area.

In a touching ceremony, women and children from the village tied Rakhi, the symbolic thread of protection, around the wrists of the soldiers, marking their appreciation for the Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.

The gesture was reciprocated with smiles and heartfelt blessings from the soldiers, who also received sweets from the villagers as part of the Raksha Bandhan tradition.

The soldiers, who often serve far away from their own families, expressed their happiness and emotional connection with the villagers who treat them as their own.

This act of tying Rakhis was not just a celebration of a festival but a powerful symbol of the unity and solidarity that exists between the armed forces and the people of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in regions along the LoC where security challenges are ever-present.
