Srinagar, Mar 09 (NVI): Residents of Badshahnagar Stadium Colony in Srinagar are facing severe hardship due to the ongoing shortage of drinking water in the area, causing immense inconvenience to the local population.
According to locals told NVI the disruption in water supply has particularly affected children studying at Madrasa Babul Aloom and those visiting Masjid Daniyaal, who are struggling due to the unavailability of adequate water for daily needs.
Chairman of Babul Aloom, Mir Usama, expressed serious concern over the situation and said that the prolonged shortage of drinking water has created difficulties for students and worshippers alike. He said the children at the madrasa are facing problems in maintaining hygiene and carrying out their routine activities due to the lack of water.
Usama urged the concerned authorities, especially the Jal Shakti Department, to take immediate steps to restore the water supply in the area and ensure that the residents, as well as the children studying at the madrasa, do not continue to suffer.
Local residents have also appealed to the administration to address the issue on priority, stating that access to clean drinking water is a basic necessity and its absence is affecting the daily lives of the people in the colony.
They warned that if the problem is not resolved at the earliest, it may lead to further difficulties for the community, particularly for young students who rely on the madrasa facilities.—(NVI)
