Anantnag, Sep 11 (NVI): Indian National Congress President Malikarjun Kharge today said that with peoples support National Conference-Congress alliance will fight for the restoration of Statehood, restoration of Upper and Lower house of State Legislature,one lakh government jobs to youth and closure of all liquor shops in J&K.
Addressing a massive gathering in Anantnag town of South Kashmir, the INC President Kharge said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked how can NC-Congress get back the Statehood. “I want to tell him (Shah) that with peoples support, we will fight for the restoration of Statehood and get it back,” Kharge said.
He said if NC-Congress is voted to power, Upper House and Lower House of State Legislature will be restored. “We will also close down all the Liquor shops in J&K,” the INC chief said.
He said that there are one lakh Government jobs vacant in J&K and Congress-NC would fill up all vacant posts on priority. About the free ration per family, Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes credit for free ration to people but the fact remains that it was the Congress government that introduced Food Security for people of J&K under which people were getting 11 kg ration which was reduced to 5 Kg by PM Modi.
“If we come to power, people of J&K will get 11 kg free ration per family again,” he said. Kharge said that there are 4400 government schools in J&K that have been shut. “Our priority will be to restore all these schools and ensure proper enrolment of children there,” he said, adding that “women folk will also get Rs 3000 financial support if Congress-NC comes to power.” Kharge also said that NC-Congress will implement the rehabilitation scheme for Kashmiri Pandits and ensure their return to Valley.
He said NC-Congress alliance was growing stronger as a result BJP continues to change the list of its candidates every now and then. “INDIA block has proved its might in the recent parliamentary polls and now its time for NC-Congress to show its strength in J&K,” Kharge said. Taking a jibe at Home Minister Shah, Kharge said that unfurling tri-colour in presence of one full battalion of special security guards can’t be termed as a “peace.” “Terror activities have increased of late in J&K and there is no permanent peace,” he said.
