In a statement, the Russian Embassy stated that this move was in regard to the decision of the “Russian COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre dated January 16, 2021.”
Earlier on January 25, the Russian government issued a directive allowing to restore international air traffic on a reciprocal basis with a number of foreign states, including India, the statement said.
It added that flights between Moscow and New Delhi are expected to be operated twice a week.
Furthermore, the Russian embassy said that, “We would like to emphasize the need to obtain in addition to the standard packet of the required documents listed on the Embassy’s website and website of the Russian Visa Centers in India a valid medical document confirming negative results of the laboratory PCR test for COVID-19.”
On March 16, 2020, Russia had initially imposed travel restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Meanwhile, Russia the fourth most affected nation has registered 3,790,265 COVID-19 cases with over 71,500 fatalities, the John Hopkins University data shows.
