New Delhi (NVI): Vaccination of Russian anti-Covid vaccine Sputnik-V was launched today in Hyderabad, with each dose being priced at Rs 995.40.
Dr Reddy’s, which is the nodal company for administering and distribution of the vaccine, said while one consignment has reached India, further shipments would be arriving over the coming months.
“…. the first consignment of Sputnik V, that landed in India on May 1, received regulatory clearances from Central Drugs Laboratory, Kasauli, on 13th May. As part of limited plot, soft launch of the vaccine commenced and the first dose was administered in Hyderabad today,” the company said in a statement.
“Further consignments of imported doses are expected over the coming months,” it said.
“Subsequently, supply of the Sputnik V vaccine will commence from Indian manufacturing partners,” the statement said.
The imported doses of the vaccine are presently priced at Rs 945 + 5% GST per dose with possibility of lower price when local supply begins, it said.
“The company is working with its manufacturing partners in India to fulfil regulatory requirements to ensure smooth and timely supply,” Dr Reddy’s said.
“Dr Reddy will work with stakeholders in government and private sector in India to ensure the widest possible reach of Sputnik V,” the statement said.
