Srinagar Admin Issues Weather Advisory, Urges Public to Avoid Unnecessary Movement

Srinagar, Apr 3 (NVI): The District Administration Srinagar on Friday issued a weather advisory in view of prevailing inclement conditions and forecast of intermittent rain and snow across Jammu and Kashmir.

The light to moderate rain/snow (in higher reaches) accompanied by thunder and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is expected at most places, including Srinagar, till April 4 evening.

The general public has been advised to avoid unnecessary movement on roads except in cases of absolute necessity.

Tourists, Shikara wallas, sand miners and others operating in and around Dal Lake, River Jhelum and other water bodies have been strictly cautioned against venturing out without verifying safety conditions.

The administration has urged people to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities in the interest of public safety. In case of any emergency, citizens can contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) Srinagar or the Police Control Room (PCR) for immediate assistance.

The advisory has been issued by Additional District Magistrate/CEO DDMA Srinagar, Aadil Fareed JKAS (NVI).
