Srinagar, Jan 15(NVI): Six individuals were today detained and lodged at the Central Jail in Srinagar after being charged under sections 126 and 170 of the BNSS for inciting sectarian unrest through derogatory remarks.
The Srinagar Police took swift action following the suspects’ involvement in spreading content aimed at fueling division and disturbing public harmony.
In a press release, the police emphasized the gravity of such unlawful activities and issued a stern warning to the public. The authorities made it clear that any individual found engaging in similar acts, including the posting or sharing of sectarian content intended to disrupt peace, will face severe consequences.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts by the police to maintain social harmony and prevent any efforts to disturb the region’s stability. The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any such activities to the authorities.
