New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India has reached 54,87,580, with another huge surge of 86,961 positive cases in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data.

The country’s death toll has gone up to 87,882 after 1,130 new fatalities were reported in the country during this period.

In terms of total number of cases, Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state with 12,08,642 coronavirus cases followed by Andhra Pradesh with 6,25,514 cases, Tamil Nadu with 5,41,993 positive cases.
