Quetta, June 2 (NVI) Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has said its operation, under which the Surab city was seized for several hours three days back, was the demonstration of the “resolve to destroy every institution, every symbol and every force of the occupying Pakistani State in Balochistan.

“We once again make it clear that our struggle will continue until Baloch national liberation is achieved,” the BLA said, in a clear warning to Pakistan which is illegally occupying Balochistan.

Shattering the authority of occupying Pakistani State, a large number of BLA fighters seized control of the strategically-crucial city of Surab in Balochistan on May 30, leaving an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) dead.

The BLA freedom fighters carried out a coordinated operation evening, targeting key administrative and public institutions.

“Baloch Liberation Army freedom fighters took complete control of Surab city … and paralyzed all the military, administrative and financial structures of the enemy state,” said a statement issued by its spokesman Jeeyand Baloch.

“The operation continued for more than three hours, during which freedom fighters took up positions at all the important locations and highways in the city,” he said.

The fighters took control of the Levies station, police station, DC office, guest house and bank and damaged enemy infrastructure, the spokesman said.

“During the operation, Freedom fighters arrested Levies and police personnel and seized 30 Kalashnikovs, along with other weapons and war equipment from the security posts at the police stations and DC office,” he said.

These personnel were later released on conditional concessions based on their Baloch identity, he said.

Freedom fighters set fire to 3 vehicles of the enemy forces, state warehouses, a guest house and 3 banks, while 2 vehicles were taken into custody, Jeeyand Baloch said.

“During the takeover of the DC office, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Hidayatullah Buledi attempted an attack on the fighters, upon which the fighters subdued him without causing any casualties and locked him in a room,” he said.

“Unfortunately, he died due to suffocation in the room, which was a completely accidental incident,” the BLA spokesman said.

Furthermore, BLA set up checkpoints on the Quetta-Karachi and Surab-Gidar main highways, further tightening restrictions on state movement through snap checking. (NVI)
