Srinagar (NVI): Hamid Lelhari, successor of Zakir Musa and chief of militant outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind was killed in an encounter with security forces in Awantipora of Pulwama District, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, Hamid Lone alias Hamid Lelhari was killed along with his two associates on October 22.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the spot, the police said.
Besides Lelhari, his other two associates killed were Naveed Tak and Junaid Bhat and all were involved in terror activities in the Valley, Kashmir Zone Police added.
Tweeting about the encounter, the Kashmir Zone Police said, “03 #killed #terrorists identified as Naveed Tak, Hamid Lone @ Hamid Lelhari and Junaid Bhat involved in several #terrorcrimes. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Case registered.”
