Bannu (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa): Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tonight said it carried out a suicide attack at a convoy of Pakistan Frontier Corps (FC) in North Waziristan, killing or injuring at least 22 military personnel.
The attack was to avenge the martyring of TTP “Mujahideen comrade Mansoor Badri” in Khajuri Fort area and burning of Mujahideen in Laki Marwat a few days ago in a fake encounters by the Pakistani military, the outfit’s spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement.
“Mujahid Nasrullah Ghazi, a martyr of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, successfully attacked the FC convoy near Khajuri fort check post of Tehsil Mir Ali, North Waziristan, Bannu Province, on Saturday, killing and injuring at least 22 personnel,” said the statement sent to News Vibes of India (NVI).
He was referring to an incident in which the suicide attacker, driving a rickshaw, triggered a blast, targeting the forces deployed for protection of an oil and gas exploration company.
Khurasani said the attack was a reaction to killing of Badri “who was martyred near the same fort a few days ago and Mujahideen who were burnt in Laki Marwat in fake encounters.”
