TTP says it foiled Pakistan Army raid, killed 2 soldiers

Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) tonight said it foiled a raid by the Pakistan Army in Laki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 2 soldiers and possibly injuring many others.

It said none of the Mujahideen of TTP was injured in the gunfight.

“Today, at around 12 PM, the unholy Army made an unsuccessful attempt to raid the Mujahideen of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Wilayat Bannu in Laki Marwat,” its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said.

“Two military personnel were killed in this battle, while there is a strong possibility that many people were injured,” he added in a statement.

“The Mujahideen were completely safe and took away a lot of equipment including some military hats and mobile phones,” Khurasani said.

Two days back, TTP bombed a foot patrol party of Pakistan Army in Manro Jungle area of Bajaur Agency in Malakand district and said “all personnel (in the party) were killed and injured.”

On the same day, an official of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) was killed in a sniper attack by TTP in Meharban area of ​​Bara Tirah Maidan district of Peshawar Province, Khyber Agency, the spokesman said.

The day saw another sniper attack at a FC post in Sirkai Manzakai Bakhtikhel Kond area of ​​Sararogha District of South Waziristan.

One more sniper attack was carried out at a vehicle carrying water for an army post in Shagai area of ​​Sararogha district of South Waziristan province.
