Peshawar, July 29 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it killed 7 Pakistani soldiers and injured several others in clashes in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after which the military personnel took shelter in civilian houses, endangering the lives of common people.
“As you all know, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) combat units, including its leadership, are present across the country, including Bajaur,” its spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement today.
“This morning, the army unsuccessfully attempted to raid the Mujahideen areas, which was resisted… So far, at least 7 military personnel have been killed and several injured in the clashes,” the spokesman said.
“We want to make it clear that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has a clear policy of avoiding public casualties during the war. But, unfortunately, we have to say that the cowardly army (personnel) took refuge in the homes of the people, from where they are also facing public resistance,” he said.
“We want to make it clear to all citizens of the country, including the people of Bajaur, that we consider public safety as our first duty during the war in any case. But you should also be careful not to let the army come near your home,” Khorasani said in a message to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. (NVI)
