New Delhi (NVI): Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in an IED attack by Baloch rebels in Peer Ismaeel area of Bolan in Balochistan province today, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)said in a statement today while claiming responsibility of the attack.

“Freedom fighters of Baloch Liberation Army targeted two soldiers of Pakistani military in Peer Ismaeel area of Bolan. Both soldiers were eliminated in the IED attack,” BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.

“Freedom fighters of BLA also confiscated belongings of the enemy personnel after the attack,” the spokesman added.

The attack comes days after Baloch freedom fighters targeted a personnel carrier vehicle of Pakistani Rangers in Orangi town of Karachi with a remote-controlled IED in which a Ranger official was killed while several others were injured.

According to Pakistan daily Dawn, 10 people including 2 Rangers were injured in the “motor-bike fitted bomb blast” that took place in March 15.

A day prior to that, BLA had targeted a Pakistani military outpost at Jafari, an area between Mach and Margat in Balochistan, and killed a Pak military soldier while injuring several others in the attack.

Baloch rebels have stepped up their offensive against the Pakistani forces and state authorities as part of BLA’s efforts of defending Balochistan against sheer exploitation of the province’s resources by Pakistan and China in the garb of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
