In Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, due to efforts by UNICEF and NGO ‘Saathi’, safe delivery of pregnant women is almost 100 per cent. UNICEF along with Saathi and the local administration has set up Prasav-Poorv Garbhvati Seva Kendra (ante-natal care centres). These centres have been opened primarily within the health centre compounds or near them. The rate of malnourished children too has dropped drastically.
