Weather Alert: Fresh Western Disturbance to Hit J&K from April 7; Jammu Braces for Heavy Rain

Srinagar, April 5 (NVI): Weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir are expected to remain largely stable over the next two days, with only isolated light showers likely in higher reaches during afternoon and evening hours.

The forecast insights, April 5 and 6 will witness mostly dry weather, though brief showers cannot be ruled out in elevated areas.

However, a fresh Western Disturbance is set to impact the region from April 7, initially affecting parts of the Jammu region by late morning or afternoon. The system is expected to gradually extend into Kashmir by evening or night.

The maximum impact is anticipated over Jammu, where moderate to heavy rainfall is likely. In contrast, Kashmir region may see comparatively lesser intensity, with scattered showers expected. Areas along the Pir Panjal range, particularly on the Jammu side, could receive significant rainfall activity.

Weather conditions are expected to improve again from April 9 onwards, with mostly dry conditions prevailing, although isolated showers in higher reaches may still occur. April 10 is likely to remain completely dry across the region.
