Peshawar: At least 6 police personnel were killed and 22 injured today as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) detonated a landmine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.

The target of the attack was a convoy of trucks carrying policemen in Bajaur tribal district.

The police said 6 police personnel were killed and 22 injured.

They were all on polio duty, District police chief said.

The attack was owned by TTP.

It, however, rejected a claim by Pakistani authorities that the target of the attack was the Polio Eradication Campaign.

TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said the media was projecting it as an attack on escort party of Polio Eradication campaign underway.

“It is being given a different color and is being linked with polio, which is a complete lie,” he said.
