New Delhi (NVI): With Covid-19 cases witnessing a surge in Maharashtra, Nagpur braces for a week-long lockdown from today with only essential services remaining open.
Heavy police was deployed in Nagpur today as the week-long complete lockdown in the city began. Kamptee, Hingna, Koradi and nearby places will be under the lockdown.
Restrictions have been put on movement of people and non-essential shops and activists, according to local authorities who said that strict action will be taken against those who flout Covid rules in the city.
Many activities like educational institutions, weekly markets, marriages in lawns, halls etc have already been banned in Nagpur since February 23.
