Srinagar (NVI): At least 40 students who are studying medicine in England and Bangladesh arrived at Srinagar International Airport today.
After their arrival, the students were screened.
Santosh Dhoke, Director, Airport Authority of India official told NVI that students are at the airport and district administration will decide whether they will be allowed to go home or moved to quarantine.
“It is up to the administration to take the final decision about the students who have reached today. The district administration including Budgam are present at the airport,” he said.
Besides them, seventy-eight passengers of an Air India Leh-Srinagar flight were quarantined on their arrival here today.
Officials said that all passengers arriving from Leh at the airport have to undergo mandatory quarantine as they were taken to quarantine facilities set up by the authorities in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, a team of 100 doctors conducted door-to-door inquiry about the locals in and around the Khayam area of Srinagar, where an elderly woman was tested positive for Coronavirus yesterday.
Director Health Service Kashmir, Samir Matuu said that 20 teams of doctors visited Khayama, Muawirabad, Khanyar and its adjacent areas to ascertain facts about the infected woman.
