Mumbai (NVI): To mark the year-long birth centenary celebrations of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, the Departments of Atomic Energy and Space have organised a slew of programmes including lectures and science quiz.
The two-day programme began on October 17.
On October 18, an event will be dedicated to children, during which students invited from various schools across Mumbai will participate in an interactive session.
Besides lectures on nuclear energy and space sciences, other highlights of the day are science quiz, debate competitions and speeches.
During the curtain raiser, the contribution of Dr Sarabhai, who is considered as the father of Indian Space Programme, was remembered for his contribution for the Departments of Atomic Energy and Space.
Those present at the event included Dr Kasturirangan, (former Chairman, ISRO) Dr MR Srinivasan, (former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission & Secretary Department of Atomic Energy), Surendar Sharma (former Chief Executive, Heavy Water Board) were also presented in the event.
