J&K: 10 miscreants held for stone-pelting near Kakapora encounter site

Awantipora (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir police today arrested 10 miscreants who tried to disrupt an operation against terrorists in Pulwama yesterday by pelting stones at security forces.

Three terrorists were killed in the encounter in Kakapora area of Pulwama district, police said yesterday, adding that two of them were involved in attack on a BJP leader’s residence on Thursday.

While the security forces were engaged in the encounter, scores of miscreants pelted stones at them to distract them and disrupt the operation.

Police recorded videos of the violence and all the miscreants were identified and booked by police.

Acting swiftly, police arrested miscreants after identifying them from nearby village Samboora, a statement by the police said today.

“All of them have been booked under relevant section and efforts are on to arrest the rest who were in involved in the activity,” added police.

It is made clear that these incidents will not be tolerated and parents should refrain their children from indulging in such activities, police said.
