Omicron cases in India mount to 961

New Delhi: India reported 13,154 single day Covid cases, with the Omicron variant numbers increasing to 961.

The country registered 180 new cases of Omicron in last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, Delhi has recorded the highest number of Omicron cases followed by Maharashtra.

The total number of Omicron cases in Delhi has risen to 263 and Maharashtra to 252.

Meanwhile, the country reported 13,154 new Covid cases and 268 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

With this, the country’s active cases now stand at 82,402, while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,80,860.

Around 7,486 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,42,58,778.

The vaccination figure has reached 1,43,83,22,742 across the country with inoculating 63,91,282 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, it said.

Yesterday, the country reported 9,195 new Covid cases and 302 fatalities in 24 hours.

During the previous 24 hours, the country reported 6,358 fresh Covid cases and 293 deaths.

The country reported 6,531 fresh Covid cases and 315 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.

A day prior to that, the country reported  6,987 fresh Covid cases and 422 Omicron variant cases in 24 hours.

The country reported 6,650 new Covid cases and 387 fatalities in 24 hours last Saturday.
