Article 370 Revocation not a ‘God’s word’, Nothing Impossible in Politics : Omar responds to HM Shah

Budgam, Sep 17 (NVI): Day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that no Power on earth can bring back Article 370, National Conference vice president and the party’s candidate from Budgam Assembly segment today said nothing is impossible in politics and that the roll back of Article 370 was not a “God’s word.”

“In politics nothing is impossible. It was the four-member bench of judges in the Supreme Court who announced the verdict on Article 370 roll back. Tomorrow, who knows if there would be a seven-member bench of judges in the SC who would announce their verdict on the restoration of Article 370,” Omar told reporters on the side-lines of a political rally in Budgam, in reply to a query that Home Minister yesterday claimed nothing can bring back Article 370.

He said the SC judges and those who favoured Article 370 in the Parliament were humans. “So, it is not God’s word that can’t be changed. We are hopeful to get it (Article 370 back,” he said. “When BJP was having only two MPs in the parliament at the time of Rajiv Gandhi, the situation was something else. Nothing is permanent in politics.”

Omar also said BJP was responsible for the growing terrorism in Jammu region. “We have been out of power for the last ten years. And J & K has been under direct rule of the Centre for the last six years. Whatever is happening in Jammu, who is responsible for that?” he asked. “Security forces are being targeted. Officers are getting killed. In Reasi, pilgrims were attacked. Who is responsible for this all?”

The Home Minister yesterday while addressing three back to back rallies in Jammu region south peoples’ vote whether they want to see Article 370 back in J&K with people responding with big “No.” He said if Article 370 comes back, separatism, terrorism, stone pelting, shutdowns, closure of business establishment’s will return as well.                  (News Vibes of India)
