Poonch, Apr 24 (NVI): The Indian Army on Friday recovered and safely destroyed an old unexploded shell in the Mendhar area of Poonch district, officials said.
The shell was detected near Mughal Mohalla in Narol during routine surveillance by troops of Rashtriya Rifles.
Acting promptly, the Army’s bomb disposal team secured the area and carried out a controlled operation to neutralise the shell without any damage, officials said.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
