Srinagar, May 4 (NVI): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his service rifle inside a camp in Tral area of south Kashmir on Monday.
Officials said that the jawan, identified as Constable was posted with 180 Battalion at Ladiyar camp in Tral.
He was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar after sustaining a bullet injury, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The jawan allegedly fired upon himself inside the camp, with the bullet hitting his neck.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway.(NVI)
