Peshawar, June 7: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed more than 21 Pakistani military personnel and injured several others in multiple attacks over the last few days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
According to TTP, a number of Pakistani military positions were destroyed and several pieces of weapons were siezed from the government forces.
The biggest attack was carried out in Lakki Marwat district.
It was an ambush on ambush on three vehicles of the Pakistan Army in Tajori on June 5, according to TTP.
In this attack, around a dozen personnel of the Pakistan Army were killed or injured, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said.
Another big clash took place in Wana in South Waziristan district a day earlier.
In this incident, TTP carried out a retaliatory action after an ambush by the Pakistan Army in Raghzai.
The clash left 5 Pakistani soldiers dead and several others wounded, Khorasani said.
In Bajaur district, TTP carried out two sniper attacks in Wara Mamund, in which 3 Pakistani soldiers were killed, the spokesman said.
One more soldier was killed and another injured in a sniper attack at a military post in Tirah Maidan in Khyber district, he said.
“The killed soldier reportedly remained lying outside the post for a considerable time, but the cowardly (Pakistan) army personnel did not dare to come out to rescue their suffering comrade,” the TTP spokesman said.
He reported several other attacks at various places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which possibly resulted in casualties but the exact casualty figure was not known. (NVI)
