Jammu, June 09 (NVI): A suspected Pakistani drone was spotted near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district late Monday night, prompting Army troops to open fire, officials said.

The drone was observed around 10 pm in the Pajani area between forward posts near the LoC in the Mendhar sector, they said.

Troops of the Army’s Rifles fired several rounds at the aerial object after detecting its movement from the Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) side. However, the drone could not be brought down as it was flying at a considerable height, officials said.

The drone later returned towards the PoJK side, they added.
