Over 1.13 Lakh Devotees Perform Amarnath Yatra Darshan;  J&K LG Sinha Reviews Arrangements

Srinagar, July 7 (NVI): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and directed officials to ensure seamless registration, adequate assistance to pilgrims, robust security and hassle-free darshan, as over 1.13 lakh devotees have so far paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine.

Chairing a high-level review meeting, the Lieutenant Governor assessed the arrangements for the annual pilgrimage in the presence of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, senior administrative officers and officials of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

According to officials, more than 1.13 lakh pilgrims have performed darshan at the holy cave since the commencement of the yatra.

During the meeting, Sinha directed the concerned departments to ensure proper registration of devotees and provide prompt assistance to pilgrims at every stage of the pilgrimage.

He said the administration’s priority is to make the pilgrimage safe, smooth and memorable by ensuring the best possible facilities for devotees. He stressed that safety, security and hassle-free darshan must remain the top priorities for all departments.

The Lieutenant Governor said the annual pilgrimage is an important spiritual tradition and called for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to make this year’s yatra a benchmark for spiritual tourism in the country.

He also urged pilgrims to experience the hospitality of Jammu and Kashmir and support local artisans and businesses by purchasing traditional handicrafts and local products, saying it would help strengthen the local economy alongside the spiritual significance of the yatra.

The meeting also reviewed the functioning of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board’s 24×7 Control Room at Lok Bhavan, besides taking stock of security deployment, arrangements along both yatra routes, langar services, queue management and other facilities for devotees, officials said. (NVI)
