Srinagar, July 22 (NVI): A police constable was critically injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident took place on the Kokernag side road in Anantnag district, where the policeman sustained critical injuries in the firing, they said.
The injured constable was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment, where his condition was stated to be critical.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the assailants.
