Srinagar, July 23 (NVI): Authorities on Thursday demolished the houses of two alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a day after a policeman was killed in a terrorist attack, officials said.
Officials that the newly constructed house of Adil Ahmad Thoker, a resident of Guri, Anantnag, was demolished during the day.
They said that in another action carried out during the intervening night, the single-storey residential house of Haroon Rashid Ganai, son of Abdul Rashid Ganai and a resident of Hassanpora Tawella in Bijbehara, was also demolished.
According to the officials, Ganai has been an active terrorist affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba since 2018.
The demolition was carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army’s 1 Rashtriya Rifles and 90 Battalion CRPF, they said.
The action comes a day after Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was killed in a terrorist attack in Anantnag district, following which security forces have intensified anti-terror operations across south Kashmir, the officials added.—(NVI)
