Quetta, Oct 2: At least 20 personnel of the occupying Pakistani forces were killed and several others injured by Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan in a span of one week, the freedom-seeking organization said.
In a statement, BLA said it carried out 21 operations during this period, causing heavy casualties to the enemy, seizing temporary control over major highways and imposing economic blockade aimed at the Pakistani forces.
It said a network of informers of Pakistani forces was also smashed.
BLA lost one fighter in a clash with the Pakistani forces during this period.
Among the 20 enemy personnel killed, 16 were regular Pakistani soldiers while 4 were militia men working with the Pakistani forces, according to BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch.
At least 9 enemy personnel were killed and 7 injured in an attack on the main camp of Pakistani forces in Dighari area of Quetta on September 25, he said.
Armed with thermal and other modern weapons, fighters attacked the military camp simultaneously from three sides, he said, adding the enemy also suffered severe financial losses.
In this operation, BLA lost fighter Ghulam Nabi Baloch alias Bolani.
A day after the attack, occupying forces attempted an advance in the area, which fighters ambushed, catching two occupying force vehicles in the attack and inflicting further casualties and material damage on the enemy, the BLA spokesman said.
The same day, BLA fighters fired multiple rockets at the occupying force’s camp in the Splinji area of Mastung district, resulting in personnel and material losses for the enemy, the spokesman said.
Separately, BLA fighters killed an associate of Pakistani military in Turbat district, he said.
On September 26, BLA fighters ambushed a convoy of the occupying forces in Khuzdar district, destroying 3 vehicles and killing 3 enemy personnel and injuring at least six.
The same day, in Gidar area of Surab district, BLA snipers targeted personnel stationed at the occupying force’s camp, killing two of them, the spokesman said.
Furthermore, on the Quetta-Kharan central highway at Sutgan, BLA fighters used heavy machinery to destroy a main bridge.
On the same highway, besides destroying another bridge, a post used by the occupying forces at Kalli Karim Bakhsh was demolished and destroyed.
Separately, between Tajan and Hoshab on the CPEC route, BLA fighters took control and carried out snap-checking for hours.
On September 27, on the Quetta-Taftan trade route at Nokchah in Chaghai district, BLA fighters took a trade vehicle along with its goods into custody.
On September 28, in Kalat district, BLA fighters targeted the bomb disposal squad personnel of the occupying forces with an IED attack in Manguchar, resulting in the killing of 2 personnel on the spot and a main bridge destroyed.
Same day: On the Quetta-Taftan trade route at Nokchah, Chaghai, fighters opened fire on a minerals-transporting vehicle for failing to stop and subsequently set the vehicle on fire.
Separately, in Barshunki in Kharan district, fighters executed two operatives of the ‘Death Squad’ running under the patronage of occupying forces’ Military Intelligence (MI).
On September 29, BLA fighters seized weapons from police personnel in Nushki district and targeted and destroyed spy cameras, he said. (NVI)
