Jammu, Oct 4 (NVI) : Suspicious movement was reported near a house in Khalidhar area near Ladyan village in Rajouri district, following which security forces launched a search operation in the surrounding forested areas, officials said on Sunday.
According to preliminary information, the suspicious movement was noticed while a person was sleeping in the verandah of his house. The person was allegedly taken towards a nearby forested area but later managed to escape and reached a relative’s house, from where the incident was reported to the family.
Following the information, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army were alerted and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surrounding forest and adjoining areas, officials said.
The identity and motive of the persons involved have not been established so far.
Security agencies are investigating the circumstances of the incident and verifying the nature of the suspicious movement, they said.—(NVI)
