New Delhi, Oct 19 (NVI): The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will implement its revised functional structure from November 1, 2026, following concurrence from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), with a focus on strengthening security arrangements at critical infrastructure facilities.
The reorganisation aims to align sectoral supervision with the specialised security requirements of different infrastructure sectors, enhancing operational oversight, professional expertise and coordination with stakeholder organisations.
Under the revised structure, dedicated sectors will be established for Power-I, Power-II, Coal, Steel, Petroleum and Natural Gas, West Coast Ports, East Coast Ports, and Government Buildings, Museums, Monuments and Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).
The restructuring is aimed at developing sector-specific expertise, improving specialised training and ensuring greater uniformity in security practices across installations guarded by the force.
It is also expected to strengthen coordination between CISF and stakeholder organisations while improving operational preparedness to deal with evolving security challenges.—(NVI)
