Srinagar, June 15 (NVI): Ahead of the commencement of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Anantnag Police have intensified anti-sabotage operations along the Khanabal-Pahalgam axis, officials said on Monday.

Specialized teams, including K9 squads, bomb detection and disposal units, and technical surveillance teams, are carrying out extensive sanitization of the yatra route, transit camps, and other critical infrastructure to ensure the safety of pilgrims.

As part of the heightened security measures, vehicles, bridges, railway tracks, and vulnerable locations are being thoroughly checked and scanned for any suspicious objects or threats. The operations form part of a multi-layered security arrangement being put in place ahead of the annual pilgrimage.

Officials said the anti-sabotage sweeps and route sanitization exercises will continue in the coming days to maintain a secure environment for the smooth conduct of the yatra.(NVI)
