Srinagar, Jan 12 (NVI): The Army’s Srinagar based 15 corps also known as chinar corps, a vital formation of the Indian army, commemorated its 110th Raising Day with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Chinar War Memorial in Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar.
The event was led by Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the Chinar Corps, who paid homage to the valiant soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Chinar Corps extended warm greetings to all ranks, their families, veterans, and civil employees, while honoring the indomitable spirit of the Bravehearts. The message read, “Chinar Warriors honour the indomitable spirit and courage of our Bravehearts and pay obeisance for their supreme sacrifice in service to the Nation.”
The GoC, along with all ranks of the Chinar Corps, reaffirmed their commitment to the nation during the ceremony, stating, “Today, we honour the Bravehearts who laid down their lives for our Nation. We remember their sacrifice, we revere their courage, and we re-dedicate ourselves to serve with unwavering commitment.”
The Chinar Corps, headquartered in Srinagar, has played a pivotal role in maintaining peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir. The Raising Day celebration not only pays tribute to the fallen heroes but also underscores the dedication of the Corps to its mission of safeguarding the nation.
