BLA fighters targeted a vehicle of occupying Pakistani forces in Turbat yesterday, killing 3 enemy personnel and injuring several others, the outfit’s spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.

The enemy vehicle was targeted when it was heading to an outpost located in Geshkor area, he said.

Earlier, 5 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 7 injured during a gunfight in Turbat on October 6, the spokesman said.

“During the fierce firefight, two valiant fighters of BLA also made the ultimate sacrifice,” he said.

Giving details, he said the gunfight erupted after the Pakistani military targeted a temporary camp of BLA in Samaan-e-Kaor area of Turbat with a drone attack.

Following up, the enemy forces were deployed in the area through helicopters and they tried to surround the BLA fighters, Jeeyand Baloch said.

“However, this attempt was foiled with professional tactical measures and the enemy forces were engaged at different places for several hours,” he said, adding the pitched battles left at least 5 enemy personnel dead and 7 injured.

“While breaking the enemy siege and securing a safe passage for their comrades, two fighters of BLA made the ultimate sacrifice,” the spokesman said, identifying them as Comrade Maqsood alias Comrade Mehrwaan and Muslim Raza alias Guru Jabbar.

He said Comrade Maqsood had joined Baloch resistance movement from the platform of an allied organisation in 2012 and got associated with BLA in 2015.

“Comrade Maqsood was a valiant and hardworking member of BLA. His commitment to the cause and strong adherence to the philosophy of sacrifice secured him prominent reputation in the organisation.

“He suffered from illnesses during this period but never let this become a hurdle in accomplishment of his national responsibilities. He took part in several successful operations against the enemy forces in Zamuran, Bulaida, Kulbar, Tump and Turbat,” he said.

The second fallen BLA fighter, Muslim Raza, also joined Baloch resistance movement in 2012 and became part of BLA in 2015, Jeeyand Baloch said.

He took part in various armed operations in Zamuran, Bulaida, Kulbar, Tump and Turbat, he said.

“Martyr Muslim was a highly skilled guerrilla fighter, and was known for his expertise in the field. Last year he voluntarily rendered his services for Majeed Brigade, and was waiting for his self-sacrificing mission,” the spokesman said.
