Quetta: Blaming China for genocide and human rights violations in Balochistan through CPEC project, a frontline Baloch organisation struggling for independence from Pakistan has appealed to the United Nations (UN) to deploy a peacekeeping force there after declaring it a conflict zone.
Allah Nizar Baloch, founder of Baloch Students Organisation-Azad (BSO-A), also requested India, Iran and Afghanistan to support “Baloch nation’s liberation movement”, saying an independent Balochistan would be the “guarantor of peace and security in the region”.
In a series of tweets, the prominent Baloch leader said, “Chinese Communist Party is directly involved in genocide and basic human rights violations of Baloch people with imperialistic ambitions. Baloch is calling upon the world that they are being subjected to gross human rights abuses.”
He did not elaborate but the reference was clearly to the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) project, under which China is carrying out various activities in Balochistan.
The Baloch people say China, using these activities, is looting the natural resources of gas-rich Balochistan with the collusion of Pakistan and they are determined to resist that.
In another tweet, he said, “I appeal our neighbors Afghanistan, Iran and India to support Baloch nation’s liberation movement. An independent Balochistan will be the guarantor of peace and security in the region.”
Earlier, over a week back, Nizar Baloch had tweeted, “The #CPEC-missile has landed on Balochistan and the whole region will burn because of it. Baloch are trying their best to neutralize its effects.”
“World must wake up, otherwise the US and Europe along with other nations will be mourning its aftermath.”
Vowing to work to oust China from Balochistan, he had posted, “Anyway, Baloch are determined to make Chinese Communist Party realize not to intrude into a living nation’s lands as superpowers have always been brought to their knees whenever they meddled with indigenous nations’ affairs.”
