Shaal: Pakistani military has unleashed a virtual war against the common people of occupied Balochistan, particularly Bolan, and has been indulging in extreme human rights violations, including brutalization of women and children, according to reports.

Over the last one week, the belligerent Pakistani military has killed and illegally detained scores of Baloch people in Bolan, laying siege after facing severe setbacks at the hands of militant freedom fighters.

Condemning the oppression being perpetrated by the occupying military, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) has said Pakistan is taking the Baloch genocide to a new level.

“Pakistan army has turned the Baloch homeland into a Nazi-style concentration camp and is clearly violating the laws of war,” said BNM spokesperson said in a statement to NVI.

He said the Bolan operation of the Pakistani military is part of the ongoing collective punishment against the Baloch nation.

“The killing of people had been continuing unabated in the length and breadth of Balochistan. Human rights are brazenly flouted in those military operations,” the spokesman said.

According to the BNM spokesperson, dozens of men, women and children have been detained and forcibly disappeared in ongoing military operation in Bolan.

In the ongoing operations, women and children are being brutalized, he said.

Prior to the Bolan operation, the Ghichk area of Panjgur was also completely converted into a concentration camp by the Pakistan Army, he said.

In Ghichk, it has been made mandatory to take permission from the army for normal transportation and rations have been limited for the people, thus stopping them from buying more than a prescribed limit, he informed.

“The collective punishment (of Baloch people) shows the failure and cowardice of Pakistan against Baloch Freedom fighters,” the spokesman said.

“Whenever the Pakistan army is defeated on every front, it takes revenge from the unarmed people,” he added.

People of Balochistan, which was forcibly occupied by Pakistan in 1948, have been struggling for independence for decades but the Pakistani establishment is using all kinds of brute force to deny them their legitimate right.
