Quetta: In an attack to avenge the recent killing of freedom fighters, Baloch Nationalist Army (BNA) targeted a convoy of Pakistani forces on the CPEC route in Kech district of Balochistan, neutralising 2 soldiers and injuring several others.
The outfit, while owning responsibility for the attack, warned that the “martyrdom of sarmachaars” (freedom fighters) will strengthen the fight for liberation of Balochistan, rather than weakening it.
The BNA carried out an IED attack, targeting a Pakistan Army vehicle in Shapuk area of Kech district.
The attack at a place which falls on the ambitious China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was carried out when the vehicles were forming a convoy for return to their base, sources said.
At least 2 soldiers were killed and several injured.
“#Kech: BNA accept the responsibility for attack on occupying forces on #CPEC route in Shapuk. The martyrdom of Sarmachars will accelerate rather than weaken the resistance of the organization,” the group’s spokesman Mureed Baloch tweeted.
Recently, Pakistani forces had carried out two military operations in the same area, killing 16 freedom fighters of BNA.
So the attack by BNA is seen as avenging those casualties.
