New Delhi (NVI): A fresh surge of 13,500 Covid cases – the highest single-day spike so far – has taken Delhi’s caseload to 7,36,788 total infections, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today.

According to the Delhi government data, the last highest daily spike of 8,500 cases was registered on November 11, 2020.

On Monday, Delhi reported 11,491 new cases, while there were 10,774 fresh infections on Sunday, the first time the city’s daily tally crossed the 10,000 mark.

The government said that over 5,000 beds have been increased in all government-run hospitals.

It has also converted at least 14 big private hospitals into Covid-19 facilities and the hospital authorities have been directed not to admit non-covid patients.
