New Delhi (NVI): A viral appointment letter has claimed that Digital Indian has selected applicant for the post of Driver and Peon for a government job and has demanded money for the same.

Dismissing the claim, the government’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check wing said that no such letter has been issued by Digital India and termed the claim fake.

Taking to twitter, the PIB said, “It is claimed in an appointment letter that Digital India has selected the applicant for the above post (driver/peon) for a government job and has demanded payment of money in lieu of this. This letter is fake. No such letter has been issued by Digital India.”

The Press Information Bureau launched this fact-checking unit in December 2019, to identify misinformation related to the government’s policies and schemes that are circulating on various social media platforms.
