New Delhi: The central government has allocated an additional 1.06 lakh vials of Amphotericin-B, an antifungal drug that used to treat Black fungus or Mucormycosis, to States and UTs.
Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers D V Sadananda Gowda, whose ministry is responsible for the pharmaceutical sector, said, “To ensure significant availability of Liposomal Amphotericin B, additional 106300 vials of the drug have been allocated across all the States/UTs and Central Institutions today.”
“Total of 53,000 vials of Conventional Amphotericin B has also been allocated to all the States/UTs & Central Institutions today,” he added.
The allocation of conventional Amphotericin B is being made to ensure its smooth supply and timely treatment of patients.
