IAF chief visits Western Air Command amid border row with China

New Delhi (NVI): Indian Air Force (IAF) chief RKS Bhadauria today visited a frontline airbase in Western Air Command to review operational preparedness of air warriors amid tensions with China along the Line of Actual (LAC) control in Ladakh region.

The Air Chief also flew a Mig 21 Bison sortie with the resident squadron during his visit.

“On his arrival, the CAS was received by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) of the base who briefed him on the readiness and operational status of the lodger units located at the base,” the IAF said in an official statement.


During the day long visit, the Air Chief reviewed the operational preparedness of the base and interacted with air warriors serving on the frontlines.

He urged the air warriors to maintain the highest standards of readiness. He also appreciated their efforts in preserving IAFs combat potential during the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.
