New Delhi (NVI): Bangladesh captain and world No.1 ODI all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for two years, with one year of that suspended, after accepting three charges of breaching the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Code, ICC said in a statement.

Shakib Al Hasan has accepted charges against him for failing to report corrupt approaches, “I am obviously extremely sad to have been banned from the game I love, but I completely accept my sanction, The ICC ACU is reliant on players to play a central part in the fight against corruption and I didn’t do my duty in this instance,” he said.

The all-rounder broke several records even becoming the first ever player to score 500 runs and pick 10-plus wickets in a single edition.
