Bandipora: Gurez residents joined hands with the Indian Army to commemorate the 78th Independence Day with a grand celebration at the High Ground Bagtore area, near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Gurez Valley of Bandipora district.
The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Rana Battalion, followed by a salute to the march-past presented by contingents of students and locals.
Former Sarpanch of Kanzalwan, Ghulam Mohideen Lone, and former Sarpanch of Bagtore, Gh Rasool Bhat, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of independence and expressing profound gratitude towards the Indian Army.
They extended warm wishes to the people on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. The celebration was a resounding testament to the deep-rooted patriotic spirit shared by both the residents and the security forces in the region.
