India’s COVID tally exceeds 10.4 mn with 18,139 new cases

New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India have crossed the 10.4 million-mark and currently stands at 10,413,417 with an increase of 18,139 cases in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry data.

The country’s death toll has gone up to 1,50,570 with 234 fatalities registered during this period.

Notably, more than 10 million people have recovered from the virus and the total recoveries currently stands at 10,037,398 while active Covid-19 cases have dropped further to 2.2 lakh mark and stands at 2,25,449.

Furthermore, in a bid to asses the preparedness, the second dry run for the roll out of coronavirus vaccination has begun in all districts across the country – except Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with total 19,58,282 confirmed Covid-19 cases which include 49,897 deaths. The active cases in the state stand at 52,276 and 18,56,109 recoveries.

It is followed by Karnataka (9,24,898), Andhra Pradesh (8,84,171), Tamil Nadu (8,23,986) and Kerala (7,95,933).
